## Quick composting facts (safe to reuse)

- Hot composting runs at around 40-60°C. Measure with a compost thermometer.
- Moisture should feel like a wrung-out sponge. Too wet: add shredded cardboard or dry leaves. Too dry: add greens or a little water.
- Good structure and airflow prevent smells. Mix in bulky browns to stop compaction.
- Feed little and often to keep the microbes active, especially in a HOTBIN.
- Leafmould is slow and fungal-led, and makes an excellent soil conditioner and mulch.
- Tumblers speed up mixing, but still need the right moisture and particle size to run warm.
