Working with Good Gardeners International

Posted on
May 9, 2023

In my journey as Compost Guy, I get to work with many fantastic people and organisations. Recently, I’ve been in discussion with Richard Higgins from Good Gardeners International (GGI) to learn about their work focusing on ecological farming, with composting as a crucial part of its operation. I wanted to highlight some information about them.

In their own words…

‍“Our methods of ecological farming without chemicals and so much machinery are local solutions to global problems and can be started anywhere. The answer to these problems is to look locally rather than globally for our food supply. This employs people rather than highly technological machines that depend on fossil fuel extraction.  Food produced this way is naturally unadulterated and doesn’t need to be  processed with preservatives and so many additives. It will help everybody build a strong natural immune system.“

GGI has created their own hot composter, which is used by UK farmers, and councils to compost their food waste. However, the hot composters are also shipped to Africa as part of an initiative to help farms be more sustainable, regenerate the soil and yield better crops.

“By harvesting what most people call waste, which usually ends up in landfill or bio digestors, YOU can manufacture in 90 days a world-class fertiliser that is second to none.  The end product, HH-4, stops slugs, snails and caterpillars and countless other agricultural problems without the use of any other technology, Entimology etc., With scientific trials over many years, we have proven that by facilitating soil organisms correctly, you can generate your own fertiliser and soil conditioner that acts as a pesticide as well.  It is all possible with our hot composter”

Their hot composters come with training as an option so people can get the most out of the boxes, and if required, they can assess the end product and certify the quality.  The end product “HH-4” (The compost) stops slugs, snails and caterpillars and countless other agricultural problems without using any other technology.

The composting boxes, called “HH-2”, are guaranteed for 25 years.

The twin boxes maintain the correct moisture/air balance for the generation of optimum organic fertiliser. It is robust, rat-proof and fly-proof, insulated and lockable with stainless steel fittings.

What’s more, they can be twinned with the compost toilets they supply as yet another sustainable solution!

“The HH-2 (Ally) can also be used for composting obnoxious wastes such as sanitation waste from our HH-3 compost toilets. With this proven technology, you will get a safe and SuperRich organic fertiliser in 90 days that grow 300% bigger vegetables, or you can apply it to trees as you wish. The Science is there now you can go for it.”
