When the first compartment is full, you start on the second. Once this side is full the first side is ready to empty, and the cycle continues.

The strong reinforced barrel has been UV protected and contains multiple air vents to promote aerobic decomposition. The large opening and sliding doors allow for the easy addition of waste and collection of ready compost.

A  unique feature is the gear and handle, which ensures easier turning of the drum: the geared ratchet will automatically lock rotation in any position.

The frame is zinc-coated steel and its open-front design means finished compost can be easily collected  from the barrel with plenty of room for a compost cart or bucket to slide in underneath. By rotating the door to face down you are able to slide the door open and let the compost fall into the cart.

My review...

It’s very important to get a good sturdy compost tumbler to cope with the weight of the contents. My recommendation is the Maze tumbler range which I have tried, tested and inspected closely. They have an excellent handle system using gears to make it easier to turn when full. The base is extremely sturdy and I like the door signs that you can put on the side to know which side to add to and which is being left to mature. On top of that the larger option gives you a huge 245 litre capacity. You can even get a cool trolley that makes collecting the compost simple. Even the smaller 180 litre version gives you a large capacity. It is also made from 90% recycled plastic and you get a five-year guarantee :)
